Wow, what did I miss? It just always made me dumb and dumber. Of course, it’s a little hard to remember just now.
As “well-researched” as that study may be, it’s likely that it didn’t account for social and cultural differences between drinkers and non-drinkers. It’s possible that in Europe wine-drinkers are more affluent and better educated than non-drinkers. It’s also possible that non-drinkers includes former alcoholics and drug addicts. Without a controlled experiment, there is no real evidence to say that alcohol makes you smarter.
