I know some people found the UUwiki because of ad campaign, people found out more about UU blogs, etc. The websters listserv had several people firing off e-mails along the lines of "gee, I didn't know there was a <em>[insert online resource]</em> you should check it out". So even if it didn't draw new members, I think the campaign had some posiive effects.
