I’m part of a group of mass transit advocates that shares your views and is working to harness public support for public transportation. Did you see Maria Saporta’s recent article in the AJC, “neglecting marta just crazy”? good stuff. here’s a quote: “For starters, no transportation system is self-sustaining. Every mode is heavily subsidized. So why do so many people believe that public transit should pay for itself? Transit is a public service to help improve mobility and accessibility.
